The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Ft Lauderdale, FL hosted the first annual Shawn Carter Foundation Gala. The event was a weekend celebration of friends, food and gambling…. all to raise funds for the Shawn Carter Foundation and help individuals facing socio-economic hardships to further their education at institutions of highger learning. There was a high stakes blackjack tournament, live and silent auction, awards, speakers all ending with an Alicia Keys concert for gala attendees. The event raised over $10 million.
